Speaking on the Football Daily YouTube channel, Ruben Loftus-Cheek has been speaking about Tottenham boss Antonio Conte.

Conte was, of course, Loftus-Cheek’s gaffer for a period of time at Chelsea, and while the midfielder wasn’t one of the Blues’ main men during that time, he had good things to say about the Italian.

Loftus-Cheek labelled Conte as a ‘very good’ manager before speaking about some of his coaching methods.

What’s been said about Conte?

Loftus-Cheek gave his view on Conte.

“He’s obviously a very very good manager. He’s very passionate, he demands high standards in training. He’s very repetitive and he has his methods and sticks to them, and that works for him, as you can see from what he’s won. With Conte I felt like I was maturing a lot and the season after was when I went to Palace,” Loftus-Cheek said.

The methods work

Say what you will about managers having repetitive training methods, but Conte has proven that his way of operating works.

The Italian has won league titles at three different clubs now, and he’s been successful pretty much everywhere.

Tottenham’s players may not enjoy the day-in, day-out repetition, but his training will undoubtedly make some of them better footballers.

Don’t be surprised if a year from now you’re hearing some of Tottenham’s players say the same things Loftus-Cheek is saying here.
