Some Liverpool fans on social media have been reacting to Diogo Jota’s incredible performance against Southampton on Saturday.
The Portuguese forward put on a real show against the Saints, he netted twice, but on another day he could have easily have had a hat-trick.
However, it wasn’t just his goalscoring that was incredibly on Saturday. The attacker’s running with the ball and general link-up play was also exquisite.
As you can imagine, Liverpool supporters were buzzing to see the former Wolves ace shining at Anfield, and their reaction on social media tells the whole story.
Inevitably, he was compared to Roberto Firmino, his main competition to be Liverpool’s number nine, but interestingly he was also compared to his fellow countryman Cristiano Ronaldo and one of his predecessors Fernando Torres.
The striker was red hot against the Saints, and if he keeps this type of form up, Liverpool may well come out on top in this title race.
