Say what you want about Alfredo Morelos at Rangers.
But on his day, the 25-year-old is absolutely lethal.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst enjoyed a winning coronation as Rangers boss following Thursday’s Europa Leagaue win over Sparta Prague.
And it was a double from Morelos who helped the Dutchman pick up three points in his first game since replacing Steven Gerrard as manager last week.
The Colombian has been quite average in domestic games for the Gers but, on the continent, his record is phenomenal.
In fact, Morelos now has 30 goals in the Europa League, making him the fifth-highest scorer in the competition’s history.
On Friday, he posted a three-word caption on Twitter which, when translated, read: “Stronger than ever.”
And here’s how some Rangers fans responded to the South American marksman on social media:
January approaching
The cynical Rangers fans may speculate that Morelos is in fact only turning on the heat because January is approaching.
He has been linked with a move away from Ibrox more than any other player in recent years.
And with the winter window on the horizon, speculation will intensify.
The light Blues, who paid £1 million for him in 2017, will be in big trouble if they can’t keep him in Glasgow.
But Van Bronckhorst won’t even be considering this possibility for now.
