Dutch giants have confirmed youth coach Dave Vos has left their under-18 side to become the “assistant” to Giovanni van Bronckhorst at Rangers.

The Dutchman has been linked with a move to Ibrox in recent days and the Amsterdam side Dave Vos and Steven Pienaar new coaches Ajax U18the news on their official website this morning.

Vos has been part of the Academy coaching staff at Ajax for a decade, working with various age groups and the Jong Ajax side.

He helped Ajax’s youth side secure qualification for the next round of the UEFA Youth League this week, squeezing past Besiktas but will now head to Scotland to link up with the Rangers coaching team.

Van Bronckhorst has already appointed Ex-Netherlands striker Roy Makaay joins fitness coach Arno Phillips and video analyst Yori Bosschart to his backroom staff as he kicked off a new era at Rangers last night with a comfortable win in the Europa League.

While Vos has spent the last decade working in Ajax’s Academy, the Dutchman is a highly-qualified coach, holding his UEFA Pro licence.

Rangers fans were already excited when speculation began earlier this week that Vos could be headed to Glasgow – and now that Ajax have appeared to confirm the news it will go down very well with the blue half of Glasgow.
