The highly-anticipated action movie ‘Satyameva Jayate 2’ has just premiered in theatres, but what date could the movie release for OTT streaming?

The Indian cinema industry is growing at an incredible rate, with stream numbers and box office successes that would rival most major releases in the West.

If you need proof of this then look no further than the recently released trailer for Satyameva Jayate 2. In the first five hours, it had more than 2.5 million views and at the time of writing, over 30 million.

The movie premiered in theatres this week, but what date could it arrive on an OTT streaming platform?

What is Satyameva Jayate 2?

Satyameva Jayate 2 is the highly anticipated spiritual sequel to the hit 2018 movie, also starring John Abraham.

Directed by veteran filmmaker Milap Zaveri and starring John Abraham alongside Divya Khosla Kumar, the movie was expected to be one of the biggest launches of the cinema season.

“Satyameva Jayate 2 revolves around the fight against injustice and misuse of power. From police and politicians to industrialists and a common man, the film will explore corruption in all spheres.” – Synopsis, via IMDB.

Satyameva Jayate 2 premieres in theatres…

Satyameva Jayate 2 premiered in cinemas around the world today, November 25th, 2021.

The movie was originally scheduled to premiere back during the Eid 2021 celebrations, but like countless other movie projects from around the world, had to be delayed because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

“In these unprecedented times, nothing matters more than the safety and health of our countrymen & patrons. Our film “Satyameva Jayate 2” will now release on a later date. Till then let’s keep our masks on and do our best to keep our loved ones and ourselves out of harm’s way. Jai Hind.” – Emmay Entertainment, via Instagram.

Thankfully, on October 22nd, lead actor John Abraham took to Twitter to reveal that the new release date had been set for November 25th – one day earlier than was previously reported.

Speaking on the return to theatres, director Milap Zaveri said that “all the films that are releasing in November will do well, as the audience is hungry and want to watch films in cinemas”.
