Hawkeye is promising to be a neatly-wrapped festive treat on Disney+ this winter, combined with plenty of action and sharp quips. Now that the first two episodes have aired, fans want to know more about the current villains of the series, the Tracksuit Mafia.

The fifth Marvel production on the small screen will see Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton passing the Hawkeye mantle over to Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop. Vera Farmiga, Alaqua Cox, and of course, Lucky the Pizza Dog, will also be on hand to channel the festive spirit.

Who are the Tracksuit Mafia?

The Tracksuit Mafia are also known in Marvel Comics as the Tracksuit Draculas, along with the nickname ‘Bros.’

This gang operated in New York City within Hawkeye canon and had many altercations with the archer throughout his narratives.

Working how a regular mafia does, the Tracksuit Mafia uses bats and guns as weapons and they travel around their operations by car.

They are also recognizable by the signature red, tracksuits that they wear – a detail kept in the Hawkeye series minus the batting helmet-styled hats.

Ivan Banionis

Ivan was one of the lead members of the Tracksuit Mafia, and the villain appears in the series as well – played by Aleks Paunovic.

Ivan owned the building where Clint lived in the comics, which caused many altercations between Hawkeye and the Tracksuit Draculas.

The Tracksuit Draculas also brought Lucky the Pizza Dog to Clint, when the archer rescued him after being attacked by Ivan’s men.

Clint Barton’s hearing loss

As many will have noticed, Clint wears a hearing aid in the Disney+ show, and this ties into the comic book narrative as well.

In one story, The Tracksuit Draculas hired the assassin known as The Clown to kill Clint and his ownership of the building they wanted control over.

In Matt Fraction and David Aja’s popular Hawkeye series, The Clown stabbed Clint in each ear with his arrows, which left the archer permanently deaf.
