Crystal Palace have reportedly suffered a blow for the signing of Fulham midfielder Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa, with Napoli keen to make the Cameroonian’s loan deal permanent in January.
According to CalcioMercato, the Serie A giants, who sit top of the table, are setting plans in motion to sign the Fulham loan star for good in January. Anguissa has flourished since moving to Napoli in the summer. And the Italian side now want to sign the 26-year-old permanently.
The midfielder has started every league game for the Italians since arriving in late August. Moreover, according to the Sun, Palace want Anguissa based on his great form for Napoli this campaign.
With Conor Gallagher’s future beyond this season in doubt, Palace are seemingly preparing backup plans if they can’t sign the on-loan Chelsea star in 2022. And Anguissa could be an ideal option given his qualities.
Former Italian international Antonio Cassano once compared Anguissa to Palace boss Patrick Vieira. And a player of this ilk would be perfect to replace Gallagher at the Eagles next season.
However, this update from Italy will throw a spanner in the works for Palace, with Napoli desperate to sign Anguissa for good in January.
Napoli trust could see Palace lose out on Anguissa

Napoli have gifted Anguissa a second chance in football after his disastrous spell with Fulham. And the African midfielder will more than likely be open to remaining in Italy with Napoli fighting for the title.
Indeed, the 26-year-old has become key to the UEFA Europa League club. And Palace will more than likely have to look elsewhere in January if Anguissa signs for Napoli on a permanent deal from Fulham.
