Music has always been a key part of the films and TV shows of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, whether that’s the Oscar-winning score of Black Panther or the toe-tapping tunes of Guardians of the Galaxy.

Marvel’s newest arrival, the TV series Hawkeye, also makes use of plenty of music as each episode counts us down closer to Christmas.

But just which festive songs make it into the Hawkeye soundtrack and who composed the series’ score?

Hawkeye release date and plot

Hawkeye arrived on Disney+ on November 24th, 2021, just in time for the festive season.

Following on from the events of Avengers: Endgame and ‘the blip’, Hawkeye continues the story of Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) as he attempts to get back to his family in time for Christmas.

However, the seemingly simple mission is complicated when a dangerous threat from his shady past catches up with him.

Clint is forced to team up with new arrival Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld), a young archer with aspirations of becoming the next Hawkeye, as they work together to unravel a dangerous criminal conspiracy.

Hawkeye’s score

As well as its endless collection of festive songs, Hawkeye also features a bright and bubbly cinematic score, composed by Christophe Beck.

Born in Montreal in Canada, the 48-year-old composer has been scoring films and TV series for almost three decades.

As a result, Beck has worked on some huge projects over the years, even a number for Marvel which include WandaVision and both Ant-Man films.

Aside from Marvel, Christophe Beck is best known for creating the score for Disney’s Frozen and its 2019 sequel, as well as The Hangover Trilogy, Pitch Perfect, Free Guy and Netflix’s The Christmas Chronicles on top of his Emmy-winning work on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Christophe Beck’s score for Hawkeye has yet to be released but it’s expected to be made available on music streaming platforms once the six-episode series has come to an end.
