What Jamie O’Hara said

O’Hara said on talkSPORT (8:41am, November 22, 2021): “I thought it was really nice to see Winks back in the side because remember Winks got into the England side a few years ago. Everyone loved him, he was playing for England.

“He had a really big fall from grace. I think he lost his confidence. What I like about Harry Winks is when he gets the ball, he looks to pass forward and that’s what you need at Spurs.

“Antonio Conte wants the ball moved quickly and pass it forward. Don’t go backwards, don’t go sideways. Let’s try and get the ball up the pitch.

“Winks has got energy and fitness, and he will get around the park. I think you are going to see a massive resurgence from him.”

Could Harry Winks flourish under Antonio Conte?

Winks has struggled for playing time at Tottenham for the past two or so seasons.

The Spurs no. 8 has made only two starts in the Premier League so far this season.

Winks made nine starts and six substitute appearances in the league last season.

Nuno made it pretty clear that the 25-year-old was good enough only for the Europa Conference League under him.

However, Conte seems to like Winks.

After all, the Italian tactician included the 25-year-old in the starting lineup against Leeds.

Conte praised Winks for his second-half performance against Leeds, but he was critical of his display in the first 45 minutes.

We know that Winks is a very good midfielder.

The 25-year-old has earned 10 caps for England.

There is every reason to believe that Winks will explode under Conte.
