Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are now reportedly facing competition from Fiorentina for Sassuolo attacker Domenico Berardi.

Arsenal interest in Domenico Berardi

Earlier this month, Fanta Calcio reported that Arsenal have made contact over signing Berardi.

The Gunners reportedly want to sign the Italy international in the January transfer window.

We covered the report here on HITC Sport.

Fiorentina competition

However, Arsenal are now facing competition from Fiorentina.

Calciomercato have reported that the Serie A club are serious about signing the Italy international.

Fiorentina are reportedly ready to offer €30 million (£25.23 million) for the Euro 2020 winner in January.

Arsenal have to step up

If Arsenal are genuinely keen on Berardi, then they have to step up their game.

It’s as simple as that.

Yes, Fiorentina are a big club, but Arsenal are bigger and are certainly more tempting.

After all, the Gunners are aiming to finish in the Premier League top four.

Arsenal also play in the richest and most popular domestic league in the world.

Berardi is a very good winger who scores goals and creates chances.

The 27-year-old has scored six goals and provided three assists in 11 Serie A appearances already this season.

The winger scored 17 goals and gave seven assists in the league last season.

Tottenham Hotspur’s new Managing Director of Football, Fabio Paratici, rates his Italian compatriot highly.

Paratici told Gianluca Di Marzio’s official website in July 2021 that Berardi is “ a great talent” and that he wanted to sign him for Juventus.
