What is National Espresso Day?

In Turin, Italy in 1984 Angelo Moriondo created an innovative machine that found a way to separately control the passing of steam and water through the coffee.

Of course, coffee existed before this point but this creation made it possible to extract the fullest potential from the humble coffee bean.
