Liverpool face enough of a problem solving Mohamed Salah’s contract situation – and now they face an issue with Sadio Mane too.
Salah has dominated the conversation this season having been simply outstanding for Liverpool.
Yet with the Egyptian out of contract in 2023, approaching his 30’s and wanting £400,000-a-week, Liverpool are in a tricky spot.
Now, Goal report that another contract situation is emerging as Mane wants a new deal too.
The 29-year-old allegedly thinks he deserves a big new deal as recognition of his service to Liverpool and status as one of the best players around.
Mane earns around £100,000 right now but wants much more than that in his next contract.
Mane, just like Salah, is out of contract in 2023 and can leave for free in just over 18 months.
The Senegal star was branded ‘a complete player’ by boss Jurgen Klopp in 2020, and you can imagine that the German would like Mane to stay.

It’s the same dilemma with Salah though.
Mane is 30 before the season ends and analytics would suggest that most players suffer a major drop-off in their 30’s.
How much money do you commit to that? Look at Arsenal committing huge wages to Mesut Oil and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang around a similar age. It hasn’t really ended well.
Mane wants big money but it’s currently unclear whether he will receive that at Liverpool, with big decisions to come in the near future.
