Fiorentina’s Serie A hotshot Dusan Vlahovic is worth ‘more than one hundred million’ amid reported interest from Premier League giants Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool, former Italy international Emmanuele Giaccherini tells DAZN.
Now, we don’t profess to have an inside track into the goings on at the San Siro.
But we’d imagine that Stefano Pioli’s pre-match team talk ahead of AC Milan’s trip to Fiorentina this weekend would have gone something like this; ‘Whatever you do, do not give Dusan Vlahovic a sniff at goal.’
A penny for Pioli’s thoughts, then, as Theo Hernandez dallied on the edge of his own penalty area, robbed by Nicolas Gonzalez before Vlahovic picked up the loose ball and punished mistake in the most ruthless of ways.
Two goals in a topsy-turvy 4-3 win brought an end to AC Milan’s unbeaten start to the season.
They also took Vlahovic’s personal tally to 12 in 14 games. No one in Serie A, not even the irrepressible Ciro Immobile, has more.
Is Dusan Vlahovic heading to the Premier League?
Giaccherini, however, feels that a rumoured transfer fee for £68 million represents a bargain for a free-scoring Serb with ‘stratospheric‘ potential.
“More than one hundred million,” said the former Italy, Juventus and, erm, Sunderland winger when asked how much Vlahovic should cost in today’s market.

Spurs’ all-Italian partnership of Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici are perhaps the biggest threat to Arsenal’s hopes of securing the most coveted forward in European football.
Tottenham opened talks with Vlahovic a month ago. Though it remains to be seen if Daniel Levy, hardly the most heavy spending of chairmen, is willing to part with a club-record fee in the post-COVID era.
Liverpool have also been linked via TMW – Vlahovic would certainly add a new dimension to Jurgen Klopp’s strikeforce, a powertool amid the paintbrushes – while nouveau-riche Newcastle United are interested too.
According to The Sun, Newcastle scouted Vlahovic during Serbia’s 2-1 World Cup qualification victory over Portugal last week.
