Leeds United squandered a 1-0 lead as they were beaten 2-1 at Tottenham Hotspur, though Pascal Struijk did impress fans with his display.

It’s been a tricky season for Leeds to date, as they have won just two league games so far this term.

You wouldn’t have known that from watching their first-half display against Tottenham today.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side were outstanding in the first period and grabbed a deserved lead before half time.

Daniel James put Leeds in front with a close-range from a superb Jack Harrison cross – but Leeds couldn’t hang on after the break.

Pierre-Emile Højbjerg brought Tottenham level before Sergio Reguilon scored to give Spurs all three points in a 2-1 win.

Leeds couldn’t haul themselves level but there plenty of bright spots in their performance, including the performance of Struijk.

The Dutch talent has played at centre back and holding midfield for Leeds, but now finds himself filling in at left back.

Struijk never looks out of place, and Leeds fans are now praising him on Twitter.

Some think Struijk just doesn’t get the praise he deserves at Leeds, feeling he was ‘immense’ against Tottenham and is taking his game to a new level.

Others believe Struijk actually looks better at left back than Junior Firpo does, feeling he needs to start regularly.
