Jurgen Klopp has some bad news for Liverpool fans after beating Arsenal last night.
Klopp’s side hammered the Gunners 4-0 at Anfield to move second in the Premier League table.
It was a brilliant night for a Liverpool team that tore Arsenal to shreds for a lot of the game.
But as ever, the German manager has an injury concern. Again.
Klopp brought Diogo Jota off for Taki Minamino – who scored Liverpool’s fourth with his first touch – on 76 minutes.
And the coach has confirmed that his Portuguese star, who netted his side’s second of the night in brilliant circumstances, was removed due to a ‘proper knock’ on his knee.
He told Liverpool’s official website: “The situation is not easy and today obviously Diogo went off and he got a proper knock on his knee.”
Detrimental
It would be absolutely devastating if Jota is out injured for a time.
That’s because with Roberto Firmino sidelined with a hamstring injury, and Liverpool approaching the famously-hectic December schedule, Klopp really can’t afford to lose the former Wolves star.
Jota, who cost £45 million in 2020, has been a brilliant signing by the Merseysiders and Klopp will have been counting on him to replace Firmino’s goals.
He has done that in recent weeks and now everybody affiliated with the club will be sweating on the results of this knee problem.
