Rangers sporting director Ross Wilson has said that he made a mistake at Ibrox recently, as quoted in The Glasgow Evening Times.
Wilson has said that he called each and every member of the Rangers squad to keep them updated on the managerial situation at Ibrox.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst has been appointed as the Rangers manager following the departure of Steven Gerrard.
Gerrard left for Aston Villa in the Premier League.
What Ross Wilson has said
Wilson said, as quoted in The Glasgow Evening Times: “In terms of my interactions during the week, I’ve addressed the squad twice this week. They’re a great bunch to work with. I enjoy working with them every day.
“From the captain throughout all the squad, we’ve kept them totally updated on what we’re doing, where we’re going, obviously whilst respecting the confidence of the process.
“I wanted to make sure they were totally aligned. Probably the only mistake I made was that I decided to phone every single player and every single member of staff last week.
“It was a long list of phone calls to make. Once I was four or five in, I was quickly regretting that.”

Ross Wilson must be praised
Wilson may think that it was a mistake calling each and every Rangers player, but, in our view, he should be praised for it.
It was really great of the Rangers sporting director to keep everyone updated himself.
Now, Wilson could have just delegated this task to the Rangers captain.
However, he did not.
That shows just how much Wilson cares about the Rangers players and staff.
It must be disappointing for Rangers fans to lose Gerrard.
After all, the former Liverpool midfielder led Rangers to the Scottish Premiership title last season.
However, Van Bronckhorst is here now.
The Dutchman is a former Rangers player who won the Eredivisie title with Feyenoord as a manager.
