Speaking on the Seaman Says Podcast, David Seaman has claimed that Ben Foster would be a great fit for Arsenal.
The 38-year-old goalkeeper is a veteran, but despite his advanced years, Seaman believes he’d be an asset for Arsenal.
To be fair, we can see where he’s coming from. Bernd Leno could be on his way out this summer and if the Gunners need a new backup goalie, they could do a lot worse than the eight-time England international.
Not only would Foster be a safe pair of hands, he would also help the Gunners fill their homegrown quota.

Seaman was speaking about Arsenal needing a new goalie.
“What about someone like Ben Foster at Waftord, would that be a good fit for Arsenal in the summer?” Seaman’s co-host asked.
“Yes, it would be a great fit, it would be a great fit for Ben because he wouldn’t have to travel very far because the training grounds are close together. That’s what I mean, someone like that who has all of the experience who has been playing for a long time, he’s coming towards the end of his career, he knows that, and something like Arsenal would be a great fit for him,” Seaman said.
Makes sense
Foster joining Arsenal at this stage of his career makes sense, as strange as that sounds.
We’ve seen plenty of instances of ageing goalies joining big clubs to play as a back-up such as Scott Carson and Rob Green, and Foster seems fit for that role.
Whether he wants to go into coaching or if he wants to continue his YouTube career, a move to Arsenal could be in the goalkeeper’s best interests, while Arsenal could also benefit from the signing.
