Speaking on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano has shared a bit of insight about Antonio Conte at Tottenham.
The Italian took charge at Spurs earlier this month and it seems as though everyone at Spurs has been given a clean slate.
Conte is willing to give chances to some of Spurs’ underperforming players, and one man he wants to hand opportunities to is Dele Alli.
What’s been said?
Romano spoke about Alli and Conte.
“Talking about managers, the impact at Antonio Conte at Tottenham. I am told from sources close to the club that he wants to give big chances to Dele Alli, this is the idea of Antonio. We know Alli didn’t have his best time last year, but Conte is convinced that Alli is a player for a top club and he wants Dele to show his skills with a different attitude and a different attitude in the club,” Romano said.

Where will he play?
It’s all well and good to hear that Conte wants to give Alli a chance, but where will he play?
Conte’s system is usually a 3-4-3 and in that formation there really isn’t room for a player like Alli.
The 25-year-old isn’t a midfielder, he isn’t a winger and he certainly isn’t a wing-back, so where will he be playing here?
He’s at his best when he plays just behind a striker, but even if Conte switched to his 3-4-1-2 Alli probably isn’t creative enough to play behind a front two.
It will be fascinating to see how the Italian uses the former PFA Young Player of the Year winner.
