What date and time will the highly anticipated upcoming Indian Hindi-language action thriller movie ‘Dhamaka’ release around the world on Netflix?

November has already been a fantastic month for fans of solid Indian television series and movies.

However, in a month where Special Ops 1.5, Doctor and MGR Magan all premiere; everyone is talking about one movie in particular, Dhamaka. Need proof that this is one of the most highly anticipated drops of November? How does 35 million views on its official trailer sound?

So, as fans around the world start their countdown to Dhamaka, we breakdown the international release date and time for the movie via the Netflix streaming service.

What is Dhamaka?

Dhamaka is an upcoming Hindi-language action-thriller movie from veteran director Ram Madhvani and starring Kartik Aaryan in the leading role.

The movie is actually not an original production, being an adaptation of the brilliant 2013 South Korean film ‘The Terror Live’.

Aaryan plays a man called Arjun Pathak, a journalist and host of the TRTV Bharosa 24/7 news station.

After an unsavoury incident causes Pathak to be demoted, he receives a mysterious phone call from someone claiming to blow up a local bridge.

He initially dismisses the call as nothing but a hoax or prank, but watches in horror as the bridge is destroyed live on television.

However, instead of alerting the police, Arjun sees a way to regain his reputation and kickstart his career in journalism by continuing to talk to the terrorist in secret.

“When a cynical ex-TV news anchor gets an alarming call on his radio show, he sees a chance for a career comeback – but it may cost him his conscience.” Dhamaka, via Netflix.

A stop-start production…

The movie was announced all the way back in 2018 and was initially planned to be a female-centred movie. However, the decision was made to switch to a male-lead after several high-profile actresses declined the role.

Principal photography began in Mumbai in December, the same month that it was originally meant to premiere thanks to a well-planned production schedule.

The makers opted for a direct to streaming release but unfortunately, due to complications arising from the coronavirus pandemic, the premiere was first pushed to summer 2021 and then October 2021.

A temporary launch date was reported to be set for October 22nd, in accordance with the government allowing select theatres to reopen in Maharashtra. Whilst this was again delayed, a final release date was thankfully announced in early-November for the 19th.
