Inter Milan striker Sebastiano Esposito has admitted speaking to Antonio Conte after completing his move to become Tottenham Hotspur boss.

Conte completed a shock move to Tottenham earlier this month following the departure of Nuno Espirito Santo.

The Italian was a Tottenham target over the summer, but he rejected the role and in came Nuno instead.

Nuno struggled and Conte is now in at Tottenham, giving fans major hope of a bright future in North London.

Conte won the Serie A title with Inter Milan last season, and Tottenham fans will hope he can bring silverware to Spurs too.

One player who worked under Conte at Inter was striker Esposito, who has been backed for a huge future.

The 19-year-old was given chances under Conte, playing 14 times in the 2019-20 season.

Now on loan at Basel after stints with SPAL and Venezia, Esposito has commented on Conte’s move to Tottenham.

Esposito has told Tuttomercatoweb, has indicated that Tottenham must have promised Conte the backing to be a success.

Esposito called Conte ‘demanding’ and ‘a phenomenon’, adding that he spoke to Conte by wishing him good luck at Tottenham – and Conte responded by saying he would keep tabs on Esposito ‘from afar’.

“If he accepted it means that the conditions are in place to do well,” said Esposito. “He is demanding and makes a difference. His CV speaks out. He’s a phenomenon. I wished him good luck. He told me he would follow me from afar,” he added.

Maybe Tottenham make a move for Esposito in the future, but it seems more like Conte just being a manager interested in his former players.
