Speaking on the Seaman Says Podcast, Olympic hero Mo Farah has named his namesake Mo Salah as the best athlete in football right now.

Farah is undoubtedly one of the best athletes of his generation, winning Olympic gold medals for the 5,000m and the 10,000m events, but unfortunately, the track star doesn’t quite have the ability with a football at his feet.

However, there are plenty of footballers who are Olympic-level athletes, and Farrah believes that Salah is the best of the bunch.

What’s been said?

Farah gave Salah the title of the best athlete in football.

“Who do you think is the best athlete in the game?” The host asked.

“I quite like Mo Salah, the way he went from an average player at Chelsea to go to Liverpool and to see the impact he had at Liverpool, particularly last year and this year, I think it’s incredible, as a sportsman you see it, he was already a Premier League player and then he’s changed team and become what he has done, I think for me, that’s’ the bit where I’m like ‘wow’,” Farah said.

Can’t argue

It’s almost impossible to argue with this point of view.

Salah is faster, stronger and fitter than almost any player in the Premier League and when you combine all three of those things you have a super-athlete.

The Egyptian works so hard on the pitch and he must work so hard off of it to reach those levels.

When Mo Farah is calling you a brilliant athlete you must have something very special about you, that’s for sure.
