Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after spotting James Milner back in training at the AXA Training Centre.

What’s the story?

Well, this is big news for Liverpool and Jürgen Klopp.

Milner has been absent ever since the 5-0 win at Old Trafford on October 24th, after suffering a hamstring injury in the first-half.

However, the £140,000-a-week man is now back in action at the AXA Training Centre as he looks to make a swift return.

Milner was seen doing some individual work at Kirkby, and his return comes at a good time for Klopp.

Curtis Jones has been ruled out for a few more weeks following a freak eye injury, whereas Naby Keita is also yet to return to training.

Additionally, Klopp is also without Roberto Firmino, Joe Gomez and Harvey Elliott, while Divock Origi suffered a knock last night.

James Milner is invaluable to Liverpool

Some may not see this as big news, although it certainly is with Elliott, Keita and Jones all missing.

In truth, the 35-year-old has done extremely well to make it back to training so quickly – it’s testament to how well Milner looks after his body.

Despite his age, the former Manchester City maestro remains invaluable to Klopp – you won’t find a better professional or role model anywhere.

With Andy Robertson also suffering a knock for Scotland, Milner can even fill in at left-back, should Kostas Tsimikas also be unavailable.

Furthermore, having someone as switched on as Milner around the AXA Training Centre can only benefit Klopp and Liverpool.

For now, let’s see what the Liverpool fans on Twitter have been saying about Milner’s return to action…
