‘Talented’: 22-year-old says Arsenal player who’s yet to make his debut is ‘one to watch’

Speaking on Arsenal’s Twitter page, Martin Odegaard has had nothing but good things to say about Charlie Patino.

The teenage sensation has been talked up as the next big thing to come out of Hale End by many, and now, Odegaard has given him similar praise.

The Norwegian was taking part in a Q&A on Twitter and one fan asked him who the biggest talent in the academy was.

Odegaard made it clear that there are a few talented players coming through, but he picked out Patino as the best of the bunch.

Odegaard spoke about Patino on Twitter.

“I think there are a lot of talented players here in the academy, every time they come to train with us they bring quality and they do well, so we have a lot of players,” Odegaard said.

“I would probably say Charlie [Patino] is one of the biggest talents there, I really like the way he plays and uses the ball, and his confidence to get on the ball and [also] ask for the ball all the time. He is definitely one to watch for the future.”

Odegaard knows all about being a young star. After all, he got a move to Real Madrid at the age of just 15.

Patino isn’t as prodigious as Odegaard was at that age, but it seems as though he could follow a similar trajectory in the coming years.

The youngster is being spoken about so highly in so many circles, and he’s not even made his senior debut for Arsenal yet.

If this lad is as good as people make out, the Gunners will have a serious player on their hands.
