Papa John’s has unveiled a brand new logo and name change this week.
Since opening in 1984, the restaurant chain has become the fourth largest pizza delivery chain in the United States with locations around the world.
The company has revealed a brand new logo as part of efforts to bring better experiences to customers but what do they think about the new design?

The pizza company has unveiled a brand new logo and name change.
Papa John’s has dropped the possessive apostrophe in John and has rebranded to just Papa Johns.
As per a press release, the chain has removed the word ‘pizza’ and features Papa Johns in bold red letters.
“Papa Johns new logo is a visual reflection of the new tone being set by the brand – bold, simple, fun and clean,” a press release from the company explains.
“This “Better by Design” logo features updated hues of Papa Johns signature red and green color crafted to better distinguish the brand wherever it is seen – both online and in-person.
The restaurants will be redesigned too
As part of the makeover, Papa Johns has unveiled images of how the redesigned restaurants will look like.
The images, which reflect the chain’s signature red, green and white colours, show that the restaurants will feature an open-plan design for a “modern, inviting atmosphere” and modular stations in the kitchen for easier preparation.
The restaurants will include a self-service option at pick-up counters and the renovation is expected to start by the end of this year.
Papa Johns’ Chief Development Officer Amanda Clark said in the press release:
“Part of making it easier to say yes to Papa Johns development is having a smart and seamless design. We worked with customers and our operations team to understand how we can have our stores be a true reflection of our brand while delivering an efficient operational experience, and this design delivers on that.”
What do people think about the logo?
People have been taking to Twitter to share their thoughts about the new design but some have mixed thoughts.
“What y’all think of Papa Johns’ new logo? It’s very different and is almost a completely new identity,” tweeted one person.
Another one is not so keen on the logo and said: “I have [mixed] feelings on the new Papa Johns logo, what are your thoughts?”
Someone else wrote: “By removing the apostrophe in their logo, Papa Johns may now be confused as a toilet company.”
