Wolverhampton Wanderers are increasingly minded to sell winger Adama Traore in January with Liverpool keen to do a deal.
That’s according to 90Min, who claim that Wolves are struggling to convince Traore to sign a new contract.
Despite talks taking place, Wolves and Traore are believed to be some way off finding an agreement.
Traore is out of contract in 2023 and boss Bruno Lage doesn’t really want to start him whilst his long-term future remains uncertain.
Tottenham had a bid rejected over the summer but their interest appears to have disappeared now Nuno Espirito Santo has gone.
There are a couple of suitors for Traore though, just in case Wolves to end up wanting to sell…
Liverpool and Barcelona fight it out for Traore
Liverpool are allegedly keen to do a deal for Traore in January, but value him at less than £30million.
Maybe we shouldn’t be surprised by Liverpool wanting Traore.
Boss Jurgen Klopp has previously branded Traore ‘unplayable’, with the German clearly a huge fan.
Liverpool will need attacking reinforcements come January with Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah off to the Africa Cup of Nations.
Traore can bring pace in abundance, and with Wolves maybe more willing to sell in January, a move could make sense.
The problem for Liverpool is that Barcelona also want to sign Traore.
New boss Xavi remains a big fan of Traore having seen him come up through the Barca ranks.
Barcelona have massive financial problems though, so if Liverpool do want Traore, January should be the time to strike.
