Anna and Josh Duggar have announced the name of their newborn but netizens were quick to make a reference to Josh’s Ashley Madison scandal from 2015.
The Counting On stars welcomed their seventh child together and announced the baby’s name on Instagram this week.
But shortly after the announcement, some fans pointed out that the name is close to the infamous 2015 scandal of Josh Duggar that involved a similar name.
Anna and Josh Duggar announce baby name
On Tuesday (November 16th), Counting On star Anna Duggar revealed her and Josh’s newborn to fans and followers.
Alongside a photo of the baby, Anna captioned her post: “Meet little Madyson Lilly Duggar.”
Madyson was born on October 23rd this year.

Josh was the first of the Duggar siblings to tie the knot and he married Anna back in 2008.
Baby name connected to Ashley Madison scandal
Shortly after the couple’s announcement, netizens were quick to point out that the baby’s name Madyson is very close to Josh’s Ashley Madison scandal.
As reported by CNN in 2015, Josh issued an apology at the time as allegedly he used to have an account on the cheating website. Hackers stole the personal details of 32 million people at the time.
“I have been the biggest hypocrite ever,” the TLC star said in a statement at the time. “While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the internet and this became a secret addiction and I became unfaithful to my wife.”
He continued: “I am so ashamed of the double life that I have been living and am grieved for the hurt, pain and disgrace my sin has caused my wife and family, and most of all Jesus and all those who profess faith in Him. … I humbly ask for your forgiveness. Please pray for my precious wife Anna and our family during this time.”
Anna opened up about the scandal
During a Jill & Jessa: Counting On special which aired in December 2015, Anna opened up about the betrayal and publicly addressed the scandal.
“I think it was such a betrayal for a spouse to go through what we’re walking through — and … it was hard,” she said during the special.
“It was hard to realize that it was such a public thing, so not only was it a betrayal for me, but it was also a betrayal against those who call themselves Christian, because here we were as a Christian couple, and everyone was able to see us get married and to vow before God to be loyal to each other. And [then] that loyalty was broken.”
