Price of Egg McMuffin this Thursday revealed
McDonald’s is bringing back the original price of the Egg McMuffin for one day only, on Thursday, November 18th.
Customers can get it for just 63 cents during breakfast hours, from 6 am to 10:30 am.
The special offer is to mark serving the breakfast sandwich for the past 50 years to customers across the globe.
The promotion will be available on the McDonald’s app as part of the chain’s efforts to boost its nationwide rewards program.
The history of the sandwich
The sandwich was invented in 1972 by McDonald’s franchise owner Herb Peterson as a version of eggs Benedict, which includes English muffins, ham, eggs and Hollandaise sauce.
But Herb replaced the Hollandaise sauce with cheese and bacon, creating the famous sandwich on the go.
The Egg McMuffin was introduced nationwide in 1975 and became a staple breakfast choice for many customers.
The current sandwich includes an egg on an English muffin with melted cheese and bacon.
