Skateboarder Zane Timpson has reportedly passed away at just 26-years-old.

His tragic passing was announced in an obituary in skateboarding publication Thrasher on Sunday (14th November).

Who was Zane Timpson?

Zane Timpson was a rising skateboarding star. He was born and raised in Leucadia, California. Timpson moved to San Francisco in 2013 where he stayed for nearly seven years before moving to Encinitas.

He was a member of the Bones Wheels Team alongside other amateur and professional skaters, including legendary skateboarder Tony Hawk.

His impressive skateboarding skills gained him more than 40,000 followers on Instagram. Timpson also published his first book titled Sufferlove which was described as “part-zine, part-diary, part-scrapbook, part-portfolio, part-poetry chapbook.”

What happened to Zane Timpson?

Currently, his cause of death has not been revealed and Zane’s family members have not spoken out about the tragedy.

Fellow skateboarder Jordan Maxham wrote a heartfelt Instagram tribute to his close friend: “I cried all day yesterday. I hugged your pro model board that you signed for me. I took it skating with me and went frontside the whole time. I read our texts and called you. You didn’t answer.

“I left you a voice mail that nobody will hear. If they do, They won’t understand cause I could barely speak through the flood of tears. I woke up crying again today I still can’t grasp the fact that you are away. The big away. You have always been so kind and loving. I am proud of the man you grew up to be. I am lucky to have gotten to spend so much time with you. I will scream your name forever. I love you Zane.’”

Just weeks before his death, Zane shared his “suffering” in an Instagram post. He shared a collection of poems from his book Sufferlove.

Skateboarding fans pay tribute to Zane Timpson

Devastated fans of Zane Timpson took to Twitter to share their condolences for the up and coming skateboarder.

One user wrote: “Sad to hear about the death of Zane Timpson, the skate community lost a star.”

While another wrote: “Zane Timpson was an insane skater. RIP to a young legend.”

Another said: “Another pro skateboarder passed away. Each one hits me a bit harder. Don’t have to know them to feel connected through this thing we love. RIP Zane Timpson. One of the best.”
