Reported Newcastle United transfer target Tyrone Mings was in action for England last night, and the Aston Villa defender had a game to remember.
England beat 10-man San Marino 10-0 away from home in a 2022 World Cup qualifier last night.
The win saw Gareth Southgate’s side book their place in the Qatar finals next year.
First England goal
Mings, linked with a reunion with Eddie Howe at Newcastle, scored in the 69th minute.
The 28-year-old Villa central defender found the back of the net with an angled header.
Mings also played well at the back and kept a clean sheet.
Marca reported last week that Newcastle are planning to make a bid for Mings in the January transfer window.

Howe worked with Mings at Bournemouth, and the new Newcastle manager will surely be pleased to see the 28-year-old score his first England goal.
Chelsea and England left-back Ben Chilwell was very impressed by Ming’s heroics, as you can see below.
Now, of course, it was only against San Marino, but it is a brilliant occasion for any defender whenever they score.
Mings, who earns £80,000 per week as salary (Spotrac), has scored four goals in 96 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
