Conor Coady has stated that rumoured Newcastle target Conor Gallagher is a ‘real top player’, as he told talkSPORT (15/11/21 at 6:10 am).
The Wolves defender will know all about the all-action midfielder because he scored for Crystal Palace against his side before the international break.
Well, Gallagher’s strong start to the season has resulted in him earning his first maiden England call.
It is well deserved for the Palace player, who is on-loan at the Selhurst Park club from Chelsea.
Nonetheless, having played up against him and now trained with him, Coady shared what Gallagher is like.
“The first thing I said to him when he sat down for breakfast this morning (about Gallagher scoring v Wolves),” said Coady.
“It was an own goal, by the way. It deflected off me. But he’s a top player. Real top player.
“And he’s a great person. You can see what he does in training. The ability and the quality he has on the ball and how hard he works.
“I think he has had quite a lot of loan moves. But if you see what he is now doing for Palace in the Premier League and how they are playing, I’ll be honest, they are a really, really good side and we witnessed that last week. It’s something he deserves.”

The Daily Mail have reported that teams like Newcastle are looking at Gallagher, as his stock continues to rise.
Of course, the power is in the hands of Chelsea who own the player, but this could be a great chance for them to instigate a financial tussle.
If Gallagher continues to shine then there is no doubt that Palace will want to buy him next summer.
But then there will be others, such as Newcastle, who will have heavier pockets and hope to go down that method to try and lure him towards their direction.
