Tim Sherwood has slammed Antonio Conte for seemingly banning certain food items at Tottenham as ‘a load of nonsense’, as he told Premier League Daily.
The former Spurs boss mocked the idea and suggested that he doesn’t think banning such condiments will result in players passing to each other and scoring goals.
In order to improve the players’ diets, Conte has banned stuff like ketchup, mayo and the use of oil and butter, as reported by the Athletic
This is clearly to improve the diet of the players, their ability to have that bit more energy, and simply put, be leaner when going on that pitch.
With the high demands of Conte, those Spurs players are going to need every inch of what he asks because it’s either his way or the high way.
But Sherwood was seemingly having none of it, as he issued this response to Conte’s rumoured change of rules.
“Well, don’t underestimate banning ketchup and mayo because they will all of a sudden start passing the ball to each other and scoring loads of goals,” said Sherwood.
“It’s normally the secret. No, what a load of nonsense.”

This isn’t something Conte is doing for the Spurs players and the Spurs players only.
But a road he has gone down at previous clubs, at the likes of Juventus, Chelsea and Inter.
The results are there for all to see, in regards to the titles he has won and the physical shape his players have been in.
When a player like John Terry, who was towards the back end of his career, is saying that he was at his fittest under Conte, then that in itself speaks volumes, as he posted on Twitter.
