Tottenham Hotspur are now interested in striking a deal for PSV Eindhoven winger Cody Gakpo after recent scouting missions.
That’s according to The Sunday Mirror (14/11, p67), who claim that Tottenham have been looking at Gakpo of late.
Tottenham are understood to have watched Gakpo in action for PSV Eindhoven against Monaco last month.
Gakpo scored PSV’s goal in a 2-1 home defeat, possibly leaving Tottenham scouts impressed.
The goal was a fine finish too, driving forward before exchanging passes with ex-Tottenham man Carlos Vinicius to fire in from outside the box.
In 19 games this season, Gakpo already has a ridiculous seven goals and eight assists.
Tottenham may hope Gakpo exceeds Bergwijn
Tottenham decided to raid PSV for a winger in January 2020, signing Steven Bergwijn from the Eindhoven club.

Fans may have concerns over Tottenham going back to PSV again given Bergwijn’s mixed time at Tottenham so far.
What’s ironic is that Gakpo has actually emerged as Bergwijn’s replacement following that move to Tottenham.
Gakpo is earning huge praise in the Netherlands though. Former Dutch international Theo Janssen has told NOS that ‘this boy has everything’ in regards to Gakpo.
At just 22, Gakpo appears to have a huge future ahead of him, and he could provide Antonio Conte with a welcome attacking boost if a January deal can be done.
