Tottenham Hotspur youngster Ryan Sessegnon has responded to Arsenal attacking midfielder Emile Smith Rowe’s post on Instagram.
What’s the story?
Arsenal star Smith Rowe made his debut for England against Albania last night.
England won the 2022 World Cup qualifier 5-0.
Smith Rowe, who can also operate as a winger, came on as a substitute in the 77th minute.
The 21-year-old Arsenal attacker replaced Manchester City ace Raheem Sterling.
Ryan Sessegnon pleased
Smith Rowe has taken to Instagram. to express his delight at making his debut for England.
And it has drawn a positive response from Tottenham youngster Sessegnon.
The 21-year-old, who can play as a left-winger or as a left-back, played with Smith Rowe at England youth levels.
Very encouraging
Smith Rowe has developed and progressed a lot over the past two years or so.
In our view, the 21-year-old making his England debut last night does not come as a surprise at all.
It is actually very encouraging to see Sessegnon so pleased for his English compatriot especially given the rivalry between Spurs and the Gunners
Tottenham and Arsenal are bitter North London rivals.
