Arsenal have reportedly touched base over signing Domenico Berardi in January.
The Gunners are looking like a fine defensive unit this season under Mikel Arteta.
But 13 goals in 11 Premier League games illustrates that Arsenal could be a lot better as an attacking force.
And according to Fanta Calcio, the North Londoners have made contact with Sassuolo over signing the 27-year-old winger this winter and are ‘moving strongly’.
The report claims that Arsenal have ‘knocked’ on the Serie A club’s door but, with Fiorentina also in the reckoning, there’s a lot of work for the English side to do.
Expensive
Nobody in Europe spent more than Arsenal this past summer.
Arteta and Edu splurged over £150 million on improving the playing staff.
And that’s a good thting because Arsenal might have to spend a thtird of that figure on getting the Italy international.
Berardi, who helped his country to Euro 2020 glory in July, was given a £43 million price-tag during the summer.
It’s quite a lot of money but, then again, Berardi is a top player.
Since the start of last season, he has netted over 20 goals in all competitions which, for a wide player, is really quite impressive.
He’s going to be expensive but given what he could add to Arsenal’s offence, it’ll be interesting to see if Arteta and Edu feel he’s worth it.
