Tottenham Hotspur missed out on the signing of Ilaix Moriba over the summer, but he is struggling to break through at RB Leipzig.

Fabio Paratici was clearly keen to bring a talented box-to-box talent to Tottenham, and wanted Moriba.

Tottenham explored a double deal with Barcelona as they wanted Moriba and Emerson Royal.

Emerson signed, but Moriba rejected Tottenham for a move to RB Leipzig instead.

The 18-year-old has been compared to Yaya Toure, but has only played 11 minutes of Bundesliga football this season.

Bild now have an update on why Moriba is struggling to break through with Jesse March’s side.

They claim that Moriba has yet to adjust to Marsch’s style of play, but more worryingly, his training performances haven’t been up to scratch.

That means the teenager will remain on the periphery with Leipzig until his standards pick up.

Tottenham did get their young midfielder for the future in Pape Sarr, who will arrive from Metz next summer.

With Moriba struggling in Germany, Paratici may now have hope that Tottenham will end up being winners from this transfer situation.
