The agent of reported Everton and Newcastle United target Lorenzo Insigne has handed the two Premier League clubs a boost by saying the Italian won’t be moving to MLS.
Speaking to Il Roma, Vincenzo Pisacane revealed that recent talk of a move to North America was fabricated. With Insigne recently being linked with a move to MLS following the end of his current contract.
Indeed, Everton and Newcastle, who are now ran by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), are both reportedly keen on Insigne. CalcioMercato report that the Toon are eyeing the winger, moreover, according to Tuttosport, Rafa Benitez is a fan of the Italian international.
With no movement happening over a new deal, each day seems to support the argument that Insigne will leave Naples after ten years with the Serie A giants. However, there is no doubt that the attacker will be a man in demand.
Insigne, who earns a reported £140,000-a-week, has been one of the best forwards in Italy for Napoli. But according to the player’s agent, MLS will not be where Insigne heads to next summer should his contract expire.
Pisacane said: “He’s out of contract in June 2022. Napoli are offering a new contract with a 50% pay decrease. And Lorenzo was surprised by this proposal. We’re in talks and we’ll see. As for rumours to MLS, these are completely fake”.
Newcastle and Everton now have big chance to land Insigne

Indeed, MLS seemingly out of the equation for Insigne, Everton and Newcastle could both consider themselves in the best position to land the Euro 2020 champion. Who could be open to a move to the Premier League.
Benitez is one of the most respected coaches in England. Whilst Newcastle’s new financial power makes them one of the most interesting clubs in the league. And for Insigne, either side could be ideal for the next stage of his career.
