Sanchez faces an uncertain future at Inter Milan ahead of the next transfer window after struggling to impress Simone Inzaghi. The 32-year-old has only started one of his seven Serie A appearances so far, for 169-minutes.

He is also yet to score, but has provided two assists in the Italian top-flight. While Sanchez did find the back of the net in the Champions League group stage against Sheriff Tiraspol.

Everton are paying close attention to Sanchez’s situation at Inter Milan ahead of the next transfer window. With Inter Live noting Benitez wants the ex-Arsenal star at Goodison Park.

The Toffees could move for Sanchez in January, but Atletico Madrid may not be their only competition. As La Tercera add those close to the 142-cap forward believe Xavi Hernandez may take Sanchez back to the Camp Nou after Barcelona chiefs sounded out his demands.

While across the pond, David Beckham is considering making Alexis Sanchez the next high-profile Inter Miami signing, per FcInterNews. But Sanchez feels his future is still in Europe.

Should Everton rival Atletico Madrid for transfer of Inter winger Sanchez?

Sanchez could have a whole host of suitors for January transfers if the Everton target leaves Inter Milan. While Calciomercato reported last month the Nerazzurri are working to offload the winger to avoid paying his €7.5m-a-year (£123k-a-week) contract.

His efforts this term are leaving much to the imagination, but the attacker has proven what he can offer. Striking seven goals and seven assists in 30 Serie A outings last season, after recording four and nine in 2019/20.

Benitez also wants Everton to target a winger – possibly like Sanchez – in the next transfer window, per the Liverpool Echo.

But the Spaniard has also admitted funds are likely to be tight at Goodison. Which could rule out Director of Football Marcel Brands bringing Sanchez back to the Premier League.
