Antonio Conte has reportedly banned Tottenham Hotspur players from consuming ketchup, among other things.
According to The Athletic, Conte has outlawed some condiments for his Tottenham players in the belief that some of them are too heavy.
And if true, it’s quite an exciting development.
Exciting
That’s because the former Chelsea boss did the exact same thing at Chelsea.
Back in 2016, during Conte’s first season at Stamford Bridge, the Italian coach did not allow his Blues players any ketchup.
The Times reported that the 52-year-old triggered an overhaul of the squad’s nutrition.
Nine months later, Chelsea were Premier League champions.
Now, nobody’s saying that Tottenham will win the title this season or even next year just because the Lilywhites players have cut certain sauces – like mayonnaise – out of their diet.
But the fact that these methods brought a Premier League title to Chelsea once upon a time should illustrate that the North Londoners will be going in the right direction under his guidance.
Things had to change from when Nuno Espirito Santo was in charge of the Lilywhites and if the players buy into the alterations Conte is making, major improvement is inevitable.
