Luton Town manager Nathan Jones has admitted he would ‘love’ to bring Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall back to the Championship club from Premier League Leicester City, while speaking to Luton Town Supporters Trust.

His name may sound like an up-market wedding venue but, since returning to the King Power Stadium following a loan spell at Kenilworth Road, Dewsbury-Hall is looking to prove that he and Brendan Rodgers are a match made in heaven.

The Leicester academy graduate has found opportunities hard to come by in the Premier League – making just his second appearance of the season during Sunday’s exhausting 1-1 draw with Leeds United – but has featured regularly in the cup competitions of late.

Technically gifted and blessed with a fine range of passing, Dewsbury-Hall suits Rodgers’ possession-based blueprint down to the ground.

But with the likes of Wilfred Ndidi, Boubakary Soumare and Youri Tielemans ahead of him in the Foxes pecking order, don’t be surprised if Luton come calling in January, offering the 23-year-old the kind of guaranteed first-team football that – for now at least – appears to be out of his reach in the East Midlands.

Should Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall stay at Leicester City?

“We’ve made no secret we’d love to have him back,” said Jones.

“He’ll remember his time here.”

Dewsbury-Hall certainly isn’t short of mementos, his mantelpiece adorned with the four (four!) trophies he picked up at Luton’s 2020/21 end of season awards event.

“If there is ever a possibility of getting him back, we’ll explore that straight away.”

Dewsbury-Hall does appear to have moved ahead of fellow youngster Hamza Choudhury in Rodgers’ plans, his superiority in possession seemingly giving him the edge over Leicester’s seldom-seen England U21 international.

But if Rodgers decides that Dewsbury-Hall would benefit from another short-term spell away from the King Power, expect Jones to come knocking like a greedy six-year-old with a craving for fizzy sweets on Halloween night.
