Sky pundit says his ex-teammate would be ‘great manager’ for Aston Villa

Jamie Redknapp has said on Sky Sports Premier League (7:36pm, November 7, 2021) that Frank Lampard would be a great manager for Aston Villa.

The former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder played with Lampard for the England national football team.

The Sky Sports pundit believes that Lampard would be brilliant as a manager for Villa.

The Villans are on the hunt for a new manager following the dismissal of Dean Smith.

The Daily Mail have claimed that Lampard is on the radar of Villa.

The Telegraph have reported that Norwich City also want the former Chelsea and Derby County manager.

Redknapp said on Sky Sports Premier League (7:36pm, November 7, 2021): “Frank Lampard would be a great manager. Frank would be a great manager, make no mistake about it.

“It didn’t quite work out for him at Chelsea, but he will make a great manager. He knows the game, he studies the games.”

Villa are struggling at the moment, but, in our view, they have enough good players to climb up the Premier League table.

We do not think that the Villans will get relegated.

Now, Lampard has played the game at the highest level, and he has also managed Chelsea.

But the former England international also managed Derby in the Championship.

And he took the Rams to the Championship playoff final.

This shows that Lampard can work with players who are not ‘elite’.

Lampard would be a good manager for Villa to fulfil their ambitions.
