Speaking on the Seaman Says Podcast, pop superstar Robbie Williams has been discussing Arsenal and the recent form of Aaron Ramsdale.
Williams may be a pop star first and foremost, but he certainly knows a thing or two about football. He’s performed at the World Cup, he’s the founder of Soccer Aid and he even holds shares in his boyhood club Port Vale.
Williams was talking all things football with David Seaman, and as you can imagine, the conversation eventually turned to Arsenal.
The former Take That singer stated that he’s been really impressed with Aaron Ramsdale lately, claiming that his save against Leicester was one of the best of all time.
What’s been said?
Williams was giving his opinion on Arsenal.
“There is a wind of change at Arsenal though at the moment that I’m enjoying watching. Because I have Ramsdale (in my Fantasy Team) and he made one of the best saves of all time against Leicester. And as Arteta says, you have to trust in the process, isn’t that what he says?” Williams said.
Ramsdale’s save against Leicester from James Maddison’s free-kick was certainly exceptional.
You’ve had Peter Schmeichel call it one of the best saves he’s seen in years, and now Robbie Williams has said the same, what more can you ask for as a young goalkeeper?
All jokes aside, while Williams may not be the most renowned pundit in the world, the fact that Ramsdale’s save is being spoken about in these terms shows just how impressive it was.
The 23-year-old certainly looks like a star of the future.
