Instagram’s ‘Add Yours’ feature has quickly become one of 2021’s biggest social media trends.

The viral sticker allows users to create a shared photo thread where people can add their own pictures that match a specific caption.

‘Who are you in love with’, ‘favourite photo from the summer’ and ‘plant one tree for every pet’ have been some of the most popular threads so far.

However, many people worldwide have grown frustrated as they complain that the ‘Add Yours’ sticker doesn’t actually work.

Let’s explore what’s going on and see if there’s a way to fix it…

Users report ‘Add Yours’ sticker glitches

Many Instagram users are flooding social media with complaints that the ‘Add Yours’ sticker isn’t working as it should.

Users are reporting that when trying to tap ‘Add Yours’ on someone else’s Story, nothing happens.

Usually, after tapping ‘Add Yours’, the sticker will be automatically copied to your Instagram Story to allow you to add your own photo to the thread.

However, many people across the world are claiming that the sticker is broken.

Complaints are taking over Twitter

Instagram users have taken to Twitter to report glitches with the ‘Add Yours’ sticker.

One person wrote: “Why’s the ‘Add Yours’ sticker on Instagram not working for me at all?”

“Am I an idiot or is the ‘Add Yours’ icon for that pet thing just not working for me??? I’ve tried to tap it on every single story that’s come up and it won’t let me do anything with it,” said another.

A third person added: “This thing on Instagram with the sticker with whatever caption and then it says ‘Add Yours’ is not working for me. Aren’t you supposed to just click on it or what am I doing wrong?”

How to fix the ‘Add Yours’ sticker

Unfortunately, at the time of writing this, Instagram has not addressed the glitches.

The ‘Add Yours’ sticker is a brand new Instagram feature that was introduced at the end of October, so it’s not surprising that it’s having a few teething issues.

As with all new features, they often don’t work right straight away. However, it is expected to be fixed in the next Instagram update.

In the meantime, here are some things you can do to try and fix the sticker…

  • Close the app and open it again.

First, try completely shutting down your app. On an iPhone, do this by swiping up on your homepage.

  • Log out of the app.

Logging out of the app and then logging back in again could fix your Instagram sticker.

  • Turn your phone off.

It’s the oldest trick in the book, but sometimes all you’ve got to do is turn your phone off and on again.

  • Delete your app.

You could also try deleting your app and then re-downloading it again from the App Store.
