Jamie Redknapp has said on Sky Sports Premier League (1:47pm, November 7, 2021) that he was wrong about Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.
The former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder has said that Ramsdale has proved him wrong since his move to Arsenal.
The Sky Sports pundit has admitted that he thought that the goalkeeper was a strange signing.
Arsenal paid Sheffield United £24 million in the summer transfer window to sign Ramsdale (The Athletic).
Former Spurs midfielder Redknapp has said that Ramsdale has been revelation.
Redknapp said about Ramsdale on Sky Sports Premier League (1:47pm, November 7, 2021): “He has surprised me. I have got to be honest. I got it so wrong with him.
“I thought it was a very strange signing. He has been a revelation because he has given him that confidence at the back.”

First-choice goalkeeper for Arsenal
When Ramsdale joined Arsenal in the summer of 2021, we thought that he was going to be the second choice between the posts.
After all, manager Mikel Arteta already had – and still has – a very experienced goalkeeper in Bernd Leno.
And it was Leno who started the Premier League campaign as the first-choice goalkeeper for the Gunners.

However, Ramsdale has since take over and is now clearly the number one between the posts for the Gunners.
The 23-year-old has made eight appearances in the Premier League so far this season.
Ramsdale is good with his feet, claims crosses confidently, makes wonderful saves and commands his penalty area.
