Aston Villa fancy a move to bring in Brighton and Hove Albion boss Graham Potter – but there are major doubts over whether he would actually leave.
That’s according to BBC Sport, who claim that Potter is on Villa’s wish list alongside a host of managers.
Roberto Martinez, Steven Gerrard, Kasper Hjulmand and Ralph Hasenhuttl continue to be linked after Dean Smith’s sacking on Sunday.
Potter is an intriguing name, but it’s claimed that there are major doubts over him actually leaving Brighton.
Potter seems settled at the Amex Stadium and would only leave for the absolute right job.
With Villa in poor form this season, Potter may not see this as a perfect step away from Brighton.
This just goes to show that supporting a club only means so much.

Potter was born in Solihull and started his career with Birmingham City but actually grew up supporting Villa.
Potter has admitted that he loved Villa growing up, but did end up having an affection for Birmingham too once he joined their ranks.
Some will wonder just how you can end up liking two bitter rivals, but Potter managed it.
Dean Smith was a boyhood Villa fan too, so he jumped at the dream job in 2018 – but it sounds like Potter doesn’t quite feel the same way right now.
