Ian Wright has lauded Trent Alexander-Arnold’s ‘beautiful’ goal during Liverpool’s 3-2 defeat at West Ham on Sunday, as he told Premier League Productions.
The former striker shared that Alexander-Arnold’s free-kick, which was Liverpool’s equalising effort, at that time, was ‘absolutely top draw’.
In what was a controversial game at the London Stadium, the Hammers moved ahead of Liverpool in the Premier League table by securing all three points in an action-packed and drama-filled game.
Whilst certain challenges and VAR calls will be discussed, the most magical moment of the evening probably came when Alexander-Arnold buried his free-kick into the top corner David Beckham style.
Wright was blown away by what he saw from the player and the clever manner in which he used Thomas Soucek and Declan Rice to get the ball over the wall.
“Wow, that’s beautiful,” said Wright. “When you see it from the other angle, you can see they have worked it out absolutely brilliantly.
“You see that Declan Rice and Soucek are the tallest, once it’s moving and it’s going over Bowen, it has to be executed perfectly.
“But that’s fantastic because they have just literally negated the two tallest guys in the wall and he has the capability of whipping that up and down. It’s absolutely top draw.”

Whilst Jurgen Klopp’s side have been free-flowing this season, one thing that has also been a constant is the number of goals they have conceded.
There’s no doubt that they are in a title race, but perhaps, just perhaps, those extra few goals they are conceding might prove to be their downfall.
Of course, the Hammers deserve huge credit because they have been one of the best teams, not just this season, but for the past 18 months.
And, not only are West Ham in the Champions League spots, but they are also in a title race, which is some going because the job Moyes is doing has to be applauded.
