
Newcastle United are interested in snapping up Lazio goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha having scouted him in the Europa League this past week.
That’s according to The Sun, who claim that Newcastle scouts watched Strakosha in action against Marseille.
Newcastle allegedly hope to get Strakosha signed to a pre-contract agreement in January.
The Magpise would then like to offer Lazio a cut-price fee to try and force through an instant deal.
Strakosha, 26, can leave Lazio for nothing next summer, and Newcastle are seemingly sensing a bargain.
The Albanian international has been one of Italian football’s top goalkeepers in recent years, but he could now be tempted to head to England.
