Pep Guardiola’s side took the bragging rights in the Manchester derby as City claimed an easy 2-0 win over their United rivals. And Raheem Sterling has taken to Twitter since the full-time whistle.
The England international, who was an unused substitute in the Manchester derby, posted a simple three-word message on his official Twitter account after City secured the win.
Sterling posted: “Manchester is blue”. City are now six points ahead of United in the standings, with the reigning Premier League champions gaining some valuable ground in the title race.
The result will also pour more doubt over the future of United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Defeat in the Manchester derby saw the Norweigian met with boos after the full-time whistle at Old Trafford.
After losing 2-0 to Crystal Palace last week, City have bounced back in fine fashion with the Manchester giants winning big midweek in the UEFA Champions League and now claiming victory in the derby.
With City now just three points behind Chelsea in the division after this matchday, the blue side of Manchester have responded in the best way possible over the past week.
