Tottenham fans have urged Antonio Conte to unleash Joe Rodon for the first time under his tenure against Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday.
Life has been difficult for Rodon, since he swapped Swansea for Tottenham colours in 2020 for £11 million (BBC Sport), but could the arrival of Conte finally change his fortunes around?
Well, that’s the scenario Tottenham fans are hoping occurs in a few hours time, as the North London club aim to get life under Conte off to the best possible start in the Premier League.
He wouldn’t have had much time, if any, to work with the players before Thursday’s Europa Conference League game and win against Vitesse.
But it was evident, once again, that they have defensive issues at the back and things need to change.
Conte likes to play that three at the back system, with the wing-backs, two-man midfield and a front three.
It provides someone like Rodon, who is yet to start a Premier League game this season, the chance to get in favour.
Eric Dier has proven to be rash on far too many occasions for the Tottenham fans likings and now they want a change of personnel at the back.
Ideally, they would prefer it happens today, even if that doesn’t happen, it won’t be too long before Conte is doing it his way and his way only.
