Michael Brown has noted on BBC Sport what Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte was doing on the touchline against Everton today.
What’s the story?
Tottenham locked horns with Everton away from home at Goodison Park in the Premier League this afternoon.
The match finished in a goalless draw.
Former Tottenham midfielder Brown was following the match for BBC Sport.
The pundit noticed in the first half that Spurs boss Conte was literally telling the players where to pass the ball.
This was the former Chelsea boss’s first Premier League game in charge as Tottenham manager.
Brown said on BBC Sport: “Antonio Conte is literally telling them everywhere where to pass, to come out from which side, Harry Kane’s getting a little bit of it now. He shouldn’t be reacting quicker than the player, but he is at the moment. They need to speed up.”

Frustrating and worrying
Conte telling the Tottenham players where to pass the ball and reacting before them is deeply worrying.
You have to ask why the Spurs players were not passing the ball the way they are supposed to on their own.
Does Conte have to tell the Tottenham players everything on the pitch?

Given that this was the Italian’s only second game as the Spurs manager, perhaps the players are still getting used to his style of football.
Another worrying point is that Spurs did not have a single shot on target against Everton today.
Now, Everton are not a bad team.
A draw at Goodison Park is not really a bad result, but the performance of Spurs should have been better.
