According to Super Deporte, Newcastle United want to sign Real Madrid star Isco.
The midfielder has long been linked with a move to the Premier League. Arsenal and Manchester City have both been credited with an interest in the past, but now its eems as though he could be coming to Tyneside.
Interestingly, Isco has previously worked with Unai Emery, who, earlier this week was thought to be a contender to become the new manager at St James’ Park, and Emery has had good things to say about Isco in the past.
What’s been said?
Emery managed Isco when he was breaking through at Valencia as a teenager, and even from a young age Emery could see his talent.
“He has taken an important role in the game, and we will take this into account in the future. The team is working full-time to produce the players of the future, and these are the ones that are closest to the standard we need,” Emery said.
“Isco has played great, and I am happy for him. Paco Alcacer has also made good moves, he did not score, but his work showed that the goals will come.”

No reunion
Isco may still end up at St James’ Park, but sadly, it seems as though there won’t be a reunion with Unai Emery.
Indeed, the Spaniard released a statement earlier this week stating that he doesn’t want to leave Villarreal at this time.
It’s a shame, because there would have been something poetic about Isco returning to work with his former manager, but that doesn’t look like a possibility anymore.
